Today we decided to see if buying "store brand" glue would work as well as Elmer's glue.
Supplies you might need to buy:
1 bottle Elmer's glue
Borax (I buy it in the laundry section of Walmart)
Supplies you have around the house:
Small Bowl
Spoon
Large Bowl
Food Coloring
Water
2-3 Plates
Zip-lock Bag (if you want to keep it)

We have all our supplies....Ready to go...
My borax is in the round Tupperware container...
Here is what the Borax box looks like:
Next add equal amounts of water to the glue (4 ounces).
Then the fun part...choose your color! Add a few drops of food coloring.
Yellow is the store brand

Green is Elmer's Glue

Stir Well

While they are stirring you can add 1 heaping teaspoon of
Borax to your large bowl of warm water.
(I never measure the water, just fill a big bowl about half way)
Most of the Borax will dissolve but it all doesn't have to in order for this to work :)

Now it's time to pour your glue mixture into the bowl of dissolved Borax.

After pouring remove slime from bowl and place on a plate.

Then transfer to another plate.
Kneading it and playing with it until most of the water has evaporated and the slime will become less sticky.
RESULTS:
Yellow (store brand) did not work. The mixture was too watery or runny.
Green (Elmer's Glue) worked perfectly!
Now let's play!!!!
Store in a Zip-Lock for more fun tomorrow!!!
